Details

Maharaja is a strategic area control game. Don the vestments of the priests of four great Indian deities, travel across the kingdom to build altars and statues dedicated to them. Secretly plan your strategy and try to overcome your opponents with the help of characters and their abilities. Every round, the Maharaja, the great king of India, will visit a new city and players will be rewarded according to their gods worship value in that city. At the beginning of each round, players will secretly plan their actions on their disc, in a phase to be played simultaneously. At the end of the seventh round, or when a player builds the seventh statue, the game ends. The player with the most prestige wins the game. Maharaja is a complex game. We hereby present all the rules for an introductory game. At the end of the rulebook, youll find all the possible variations to the rules for an ever-new experience.
AREA CONTROL STRATEGY GAME: Move across the land building statues in cities and shrines along the roads. As other players pass your shrines, theyll need to pay a donation in the form of victory points. If the Maharaja moves into a city containing a statue you built, youll score even more victory points.
GAIN POWERFUL ALLIES: As you work to build your statues and shrines, youll be able to call upon the help of several possible special characters. These characters will grant you special abilities that, when used strategically, can swing the game in your favor.
A NEW EDITION OF A CLASSIC GAME: Maharaja is a new edition of the classic game by the authors Wolfgang Kramer and Michael Kiesling. This new version of the game is ehanced with new graphics and components.
NUMBER OF PLAYERS AND AVERAGE PLAYTIME: Maharaja is a strategic area control game for 1 to 4 players and takes 90 minutes to play.
